I feel patients are discharged too soon afterwards surgery. The support from district nurses is not in place for support . It is a few days of being felt to be on your own. I was concerned and finished up going to A&E when wound seeping.

I was admitted to Ashford Hospital for a knee replacement in July 2021. I spent 4 days in the hospital. The standard of care was exceptional. On the day I was admitted a nurse sat down with me and explained everything. On the rare occasion that I had to call a nurse they arrived straight away. The bed was changed daily and I felt I was treated with dignity by everyone at the hospital.

I had a video consultation with Christina this morning for a problem relating to what appears to be a pinched nerve in my back. I have had through the years many consultations with medical practitioners both in the UK in Belgium and in the USA. I would rate this as one of the very best. She listened to me, discussed my problems, explained the issues and did a thoroughly professional and exemplary interpersonal job. I would like you to both thank her on my behalf and let her know what a tremendous impression of the NHS she gives to patients such as me. An excellent role model. For your reference I have owned a company that turned over £100m/year and been the senior management advisor to the Financial Times for a period of over 5 years. I know great staff when I see them.

I recently had a hip replacement at Ashford Hospital with Mr Amit Vats as my surgeon. I was in Dickens Ward after surgery and I could not have received better care. The staff were amazing, so supportive and helpful.

I'm not happy with the service I've received at all

Suggested improvements
I did not receive a reply to my email dated 5th August. So I called yesterday and asked why I hadn't had a reply. I wasn't able to be told nor was I able to be put through to the team who monitor the inbox, I was told someone would call me. During my telephone conversation I asked a number of questions regarding my treatment and it transpired that the long over due letter from my appointment on 5th July had NOT been sent out to either me or St. Georges hospital. Therefore, if I hadn't take the trouble to call you regarding my letter, it would still not have been sent out or dealt with! I was asked to call St Georges Hospital to chase them up. This is when I said you best check to see if you have actually sent the letter out in the first place. It was after my intervention that it transpired you hadn't sent it out! All I'm asking for is for someone to explain why this has happened, as I have sent email before without getting a reply, but to not have sent out important letters and for me to have to check up on you seems unreasonable. I have had a problem that has been going for over 1 year now and according to the people I spoke to there is nothing more they can do for me and but I still have acute pain and they don't seem interested in finding a solution. I last spoke to someone on 9th July and I was told I would receive a letter but 5 weeks later I'm still waiting.
